Out of every city within the U.S., far few come close to being as child-friendly as Orlando. A playground for all ages, Orlando is particularly well-equipped for society’s youngest members. Yet, so many visitors are unaware of just how many more kid-friendly places and attractions there are. Of course, there are the obvious theme parks, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld, for example.
What to Do With Kids in Orlando
For those of you who have been to Orlando a few times before, or simply prefer to know all of your options, we’ve compiled a quick list of some of the best child-friendly activities in Orlando.
With 110 acres of wildlife preserve, it’s safe to say that there’s space for more than a handful of Gators, at Gatorland. Known as the alligator capital of the world, Gatorland is a seriously unique experience and one that kids go nuts over. You’ll be able to see alligators and crocodiles of all shapes, sizes, and colors. The park features the largest collection of the extremely rare white leucistic alligators, which are fascinating to see. In addition to the wildlife, there’s also a theme park with fun rides and games. Fun and educational; it’s a win-win.
Geared more for the younger kiddos, the Crayola Experience is a place for hands-on play and discovery. You and the little ones can spend a few hours staring in your own coloring page, naming a Crayola crayon, learning how crayons are made, and much more. It’s a great experience for the kids to express themselves and learn how fun it is to be creative!
Another attraction that kids just can’t get enough of, in our experience, is LEGOLAND. The geniuses behind LEGOLAND seem to really understand the inner workings of a kid’s mind because the entire theme park is a dream come true for them. From the rides to the shows, and down to the menu items and aesthetics of the restaurants, your kids will be in heaven. This is also an attraction that typically appeals more to the under 10 age range.
Surfari Water Park
Considering it’s warm, hot even, year-round in Orlando, spending the day at a water park is always appealing. One of the latest, and greatest, of them all, is Surfari, located at The Grove Resort & Spa ORLANDO. It features a variety of age-appropriate rides and slides for the kids, but the cherry on top of it all is the FlowRider. A double surf simulator, the FlowRider offers a chance to learn to surf, without ever stepping foot into the ocean. No prior experience is necessary, and there are plenty of instructors to show you the ropes and chuckle with you as you fall in, which everyone does!
Andretti Indoor Karting & Games
No matter how many decades pass by, certain kid-friendly experiences remain classic. Indoor karting and arcade games will forever fall into the category of “classic,” and our favorite spot in Orlando is Andretti Indoor Karting & Games.
Now that you know where to go and make all the heartwarming memories with your kiddos, the question begs where should you stay? Especially if you have a large family, you’ll want a resort that is spacious and features family-focused amenities. The Grove Resort & Spa Orlando is one such place. Offering residential suite-style rooms, in-room kitchen, laundry, and common living space, The Grove was designed with families in mind.
Around the property, kids will find plenty to be entertained by multiple pools, Surfari Water Park, Lake Austin, an arcade, and more. The resort also offers complimentary transportation to and from Walt Disney World, to help make vacationing as smooth as possible for parents.
Though they may not thank you now, your kids will look back on all of the incredible memories made in Orlando and feel appreciative of you! If you need any assistance planning, please reach out!
